RO / Decembrie 2023 marchează încheierea celui de-al doilea sezon cultural al seriei de ateliere creative Pădurea Fermecată, și ne dorim să facem un bilanț al acestei minunate inițiative, pe care Oberliht se angajează să o susțină în continuare. Cu această ocazie, artista Iulia Pînzari și facilitatoarea programului ne-a lăsat să intrăm în lumea ei la ultimul atelier al anului, înainte ca frigul să cuprindă complet Casa Zemstvei. Acest atelier a fost dedicat în totalitate decorațiunilor de iarnă.

După cum ne povestește Iulia Pînzari, totul a început în timpul primăverii anului 2022, în care Rusia a declanșat războiul la scară largă împotriva Ucrainei. Scopul principal era, în acel moment, să ofere copiilor din familiile de refugiați un spațiu pentru relaxare și, poate, puțină terapie. Deși atelierul este dedicat copiilor moldoveni și ucraineni, copiii ucraineni au devenit rapid majoritari. Trebuie menționat că, în acea perioadă, aceștia aveau doar acces la educație online: Iulia Pînzari a resimțit stresul considerabil legat de condițiile lor și sentimentul de gol. „De aceea”, spune ea, „permitem părinților să rămână cu copiii, pentru a le aduce o anumită stabilitate emoțională”. Adaugă: „Acest lucru este foarte important pentru acești copii”.

În cadrul ultimei ediții a atelierelor, Iulia Pînzari a reușit să creeze un spațiu liber și o atmosferă creativă în atelierul de artă pe care-l folosește în Casa Zemstvei. În fiecare sâmbătă după-amiază, unul după altul, copii s-au adunat indiferent de vârstă și naționalitate. Acolo, ei puteau discuta împreună despre diferite aspecte culturale, la fel cum Iulia Pînzari le-a propus copiilor să-și creeze propriile figuri motanka, care sunt păpuși foarte importante în folclorul ucrainean. „De asemenea, ei capătă noi abilități foarte importante, acel pas de învârtire a firului este foarte complicat pentru ei!” adaugă artista. Iulia Pînzari adaptează cu meticulozitate atelierele sale la diferitele nevoi ale copiilor, fie că este vorba despre naționalitate și context sau vârstă, exact așa cum a făcut atunci când a avut un grup compus în cea mai mare parte din adolescenți și le-a dat un proiect inspirat de sculpturile albe ale lui Brâncuși și de elementele lor repetitive. Arătând cu mândrie panourile pe care le-au creat (foarte sofisticate și simple în același timp în ceea ce privește materialele utilizate), a dezvăluit că a vrut, de asemenea, ca participanții mai tineri să poată aduce acea atmosferă creativă la ei acasă prin executarea celor învățate pentru a-și personaliza dormitoarele. Pentru adolescenți și-a imaginat un atelier foarte specific despre blugi și, așa cum obișnuiește să facă, a încercat să-i motiveze să vadă potențialul reciclării. În cele din urmă, ea recunoaște că cadrul atelierului Pădurea Fermecată fiecare se simte foarte liber și evolutiv, deoarece creativitatea vine mereu dincolo de cadru, insistând asupra faptului că încearcă să adune copiii în jurul unor valori importante, cum ar fi bunătatea, respectul reciproc și afirmarea de sine.

Și tot cu aceeași bunăvoință, Iulia Pînzari a acceptat să răspundă la câteva întrebări. Iată interviul pe care l-a acordat cu amabilitate echipei noastre:

– Care sunt avantajele pentru copii de a participa la astfel de activități practice? Ce abilități învață?
Oh, sper că învață multe abilități! Este vorba și în mare parte despre siguranță: cum să folosească foarfeca în siguranță, cum să folosească lipiciul fierbinte, etc. Îmi amintesc de acest proiect legat de decupajul de foi de aluminiu, care le-a părut complet nou! Lucrăm și cu materiale textile, iar proprietatea lor de a fi lipite este, de asemenea, surprinzătoare pentru copii.

– Este combinația între copiii moldoveni și ucraineni eficientă pentru integrarea ucrainenilor? Puteți estima în ce număr vin unii și alții? Ce limbă folosesc copiii pentru a comunica între ei?
Este foarte dificil să oferim un număr exact. Aș spune că majoritatea copiilor care vin, sunt în mare parte ucraineni, dar la fiecare sesiune avem în jur de o pătrime participanți moldoveni. Trebuie să avem în vedere că acest atelier este important în special pentru copiii ucraineni (refugiați), mai ales în primele sesiuni. Într-adevăr, ei nu cunoșteau deloc Chișinăul sau limba română de bază, iar participarea la întâlnirile noastre a fost o modalitate pentru ei de a afla mai multe. Pădurea Fermecată a fost un loc pentru comunitatea lor să se reunească, ceva ce nu ar fi fost posibil altfel, mai ales pentru că acești copii vin din orașe foarte diferite din Ucraina. În mod natural, limba comună este rusă, fiecare copil o înțelege și foarte des o vorbesc de la o vârstă foarte fragedă.

– Cum ați descrie atmosfera generală în cadrul atelierului dumneavoastră? Se înțeleg bine copiii? Ați observat dacă se ajută reciproc între ei?
Da, desigur, copiii se înțeleg bine! A fost foarte vizibil în primele zile ale atelierului nostru că copiii chiar s-au ajutat unii pe alții. Nu am observat nicio tristețe sau furie din partea copiilor ucraineni, ceva la care, totuși, mă pregăteam mintal. Îmi place foarte mult că nu au o mentalitate de victimă. Adolescenții au și ei mult umor în ceea ce privește războiul. De asemenea, în acest atelier, personal nu vorbesc niciodată cu ei despre probleme politice și nu le pun niciodată întrebări. Da, nicio întrebare aici, trebuie să fie un spațiu liber pentru creativitate și momente relaxante!

– Ați observat schimbări semnificative la copii pe parcursul anului, dacă au evoluat? Îi vedeți adesea pe aceiași copii?
Aș spune că copiii se schimbă de la o sesiune la alta. Acest lucru se datorează circumstanțelor lor foarte specifice, de exemplu, mulți dintre ei au fost nevoiți să părăsească Moldova. De asemenea, copiii devin foarte ocupați cu alte activități pe măsură ce progresează integrarea lor. Apropo, acesta este motivul pentru care este important ca acest atelier să rămână gratuit, ei trebuie să știe că pot veni și pleca!

– Ați putea spune că aceste ateliere îi ajută pe copii să devină cetățeni mai buni? În ce fel?
Este o întrebare foarte bună! Există mai multe modalități prin care ei se pot manifesta ca cetățeni mai buni în cadrul acestui atelier. În primul rând, prefer să le explic că ceea ce facem împreună este un proiect mare în care mica lor creația va fi implementată. Avem acest exemplu – al unui copac pe care l-am realizat împreună pentru acest spațiu, pe care am suspendat păpușile și bufnițele pe care le-au făcut. Ei înțeleg că nu întotdeauna ei își pot lua acasă creația lor și înțeleg, de asemenea, că aici, nu va fi aruncată. O păstrăm și o expunem. Le reamintesc că scopul nostru principal este să petrecem timp împreună și să facem ceva în comun. De asemenea, atelierul îi învață că putem fi foarte diferiți unii de alții, că celălalt poate avea o modalitate foarte diferită de interpretare și de creație cu aceleași instrumente pe care le au. Este deosebit de remarcabil când grupul combină adolescenți și copii mai mici. În cele din urmă, deoarece avem tendința de a folosi în mod regulat materiale recuperate devin cetățeni mai responsabili datorită acestei practici.

– În câteva cuvinte, ce credeți că se conturează din aceste ateliere?
Oh, improvizația perpetuă este cel mai remarcabil lucru pentru mine! Este surprinzător tot timpul. Dar insist să rămânem întotdeauna în cadrul valorilor noastre, bunătatea și respectul, și le reamintesc frecvent că acestea sunt obiectivele noastre principale. Uneori simt nevoia să subliniez cu ei ce înseamnă respectul față de ceilalți sau respectul față de sine, în funcție de profilul copilului. Dar copiii pot interpreta aceste valori în moduri foarte diferite față de ce aveam inițial în minte, este foarte surprinzător!

Pădurea Fermecată
Pădurea Fermecată este un spațiu liber pentru autorealizare și integrare creativă a copiilor din Ucraina și Republica Moldova, care și-a început activitatea în aprilie 2022, sub îndrumarea artistei Iulia Pînzari, în urma războiului de amploare început de Rusia în Ucraina. Timp de un an și jumătate, copiii au creat jucării, panouri decorative, figuri de animale și plante magice din materiale reciclate, care au fost expuse regulat în cadrul diverselor evenimente organizate la Casa Zemstvei.

Iulia Pînzari este actriță, regizoare și facilitatoare a atelierelor creative Pădurea Fermecată, destinate în special copiilor din familiile de refugiați. În plus, Iulia predă improvizație teatrală, cursuri de cultură artistică și tehnică și este regizoare de teatru la ZAO.

EN / December 2023 marks the end of the second cultural season of the Enchanted Forest Program and it is with emotion that we would like to take stock of this wonderful initiative, that Oberliht is committed to supporting further. For this occasion, Iulia Pînzari, artist and author of the Enchanted Forest series of workshops, let us enter in her world for the very last workshop of the year, before the cold completely takes over Casa Zemstvei. It was rightfully dedicated to winter’s decorations. 

As recorded by Iulia Pînzari, everything started during the first spring of the Russian war against Ukraine. The main goal was at this moment to offer a space for children to relax, and maybe a bit of therapy for children of refugee families. If the workshop is dedicated to Moldovan and Ukrainian children, the Ukrainian children turned out in force very quickly. It should be noted that, at that time, they only had online education: Iulia Pînzari recorded their large stress related to their conditions and their feeling of emptiness. “This is why, she says, we allow the parents to stay with the children, to bring them some emotional stability”. She adds: “This is very important for those children”. 

During the past edition of the workshops, Iulia Pînzari indeed succeeded in generating a free space and a creative vibe in the Art atelier she makes use of in Casa Zemstvei. Each Saturday afternoon, children succeeded one another, regardless of age and nationality. There, they can talk all together about different cultural aspects, just like when Iulia Pînzari proposed to the children to create their own motanka, which are very important dolls in Ukrainian folklore. “It also teaches them a great skill, that gesture of coiling the thread is very complicated for them!” adds the artist. Iulia Pînzari meticulously adapts her workshops to the different needs of the children, whether it is because of their nationality and context or their age, exactly as when she had a group of mostly teenagers and she gave them a project inspired by Brancusi’s white sculpture and their repetitive elements. As she was proudly showing the panels they created (both very sophisticated and simple in terms of the materials used), she revealed that she also wanted the young participants to be able to bring that creative atmosphere at home and reproduce it to personalize their bedrooms. For teenagers, she also imagined a very specific workshop around denim and, as she usually does, tried to motivate them to see the potential of recycling. Finally, as she acknowledges that the frame of the Enchanted Forest workshop is very free and evolving since creativity always comes beyond the frame, she insists that she unites the children around important values, such as kindness, mutual respect, and self-affirmation. 

And this is with that same kindness that Iulia Pinzari also accepted to answer a few questions. Here is the interview she nicely granted to our team:

– What are the advantages for children of taking part in such a hands-on activity? What skills do they learn?
Oh, I hope they learn a lot of skills! It is also mostly about safety: how to use scissors safely, how to use hot glue, etc. I remember this project around the decoupage of aluminum foils that felt completely new to them! We also work with textiles and being able to glue it is also surprising for children. 

– Is the mixing of Moldovan and Ukrainian children effective for the Ukrainian’s integration? Can you estimate the percentage of Moldovans and the percentage of Ukrainians? What about the language the children use to communicate with each other?
It is very hard to give an exact percentage. I would say that the children who come are mostly Ukrainian but each session, we have around 20%-25% of Moldovan participants. We have to remember that this workshop is important especially to Ukrainian children (with refugee backgrounds), above all during the very first sessions. Indeed, they didn’t know Chisinau at all, or even the basic Romanian language, and coming to our encounters was a way to learn about that. Enchanted Forest was a place for their community to be reunited, something that would not have been possible otherwise, especially since the children come from very different cities in Ukraine. Naturally, the common language is Russian, every child understands it and very often they all speak it from a very young age. 

– How would you describe the general ambiance during your workshop? Do the children get along well? Did you see mutual aid being organized between them?
Yes, of course, the children get along well! It was very noticeable in the first days of our workshop, that the children really helped each other. I didn’t notice any sorrow or anger from Ukrainian children, something I was although mentally preparing for. I really like that they don’t have a victim mindset. Teenagers also have a lot of humor regarding the war. Also, in this workshop, I personally never talk to them about political matters and never ask them questions. Yes, no question here, it must be a free space for creativity and relaxing moments!    

– Did you see some noticeable changes in the kids during the year? Do you often see the same kids? 
I would say that the children change from one session to another, but because of their very peculiar circumstances, for example, a lot of them are led to leave Moldova. Also, children get very busy with other activities as part of their integration progresses. By the way, this is why it’s important that this workshop remains free of charge, they need to know they can come and go!

– Would you say those workshops help the kids to become better citizens? In which way?
Oh, it’s a very good question! There are many ways for them to appear as better citizens in this workshop. First, I prefer to explain to them what we’re making together is a big project in which their little creation will be implemented. There is this example of a tree we built together for this room in which we suspended their dolls and the owls they made. They understand that they don’t always get to bring their creation home and they also understand that here, it won’t be thrown away. We keep it and exhibit it. I remind them that our main goal is to spend time together and to do something in common. It also teaches them that we can be very different from one to another, that the other can have a very different way of interpreting and creating with the same tools that you have. It’s especially striking when the group mixes teenagers and younger children. Finally, since we tend to use on a very regular basis second hand material, they become better citizens because of this practice. 

– In a few words, what do you think is emerging from these workshops?
The perpetual improvisation, it’s the most striking part for me! It’s surprising all the time. But, I insist, we always stay within the framework of our values, kindness and respect, and I remind them frequently that they are our main goals. I have the need sometimes to underline with them what is the respect to others or the respect to oneself, depending on the child’s profile. But the children can build on these values in very different ways from what I originally had in mind, it’s very surprising! 

Enchanted Forest
Enchanted Forest is a free space for self-realization and creative integration of children from Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, which began its activity in April 2022, under the guidance of the artist Iulia Pînzari, following the full-scale war started by Russia in Ukraine. During the last 1,5 years, the children created toys, decorative panels, figures of magical animals and plants from recycled materials, which were regularly exhibited in the frame of various events organized at Casa Zemstvei.

Iulia Pînzari is an actress, director, and facilitator of the Enchanted Forest Art Workshops intended especially for children from refugee families. In addition, Iulia teaches theatrical improvisation, artistic and technical culture courses and is director of theatre at ZAO Theatrical Improvisation Studio.
